The Protective Action Equipment Available To You

The Protective Action Equipment is now available for pick up for residents in the Pink Zones at the CSEPP Distribution and Training Center. These zones include the following: (A-1, A-1A, A-2, B-1, B-2, C-1, C-1A, and D-1)

Residents of the Pink Zones will need to come to the CSEPP Distribution and Training Center located at 105 D St. Anniston, AL 36201 to pick up your equipment.

How to use your Protective Hood, Portable Room Air Filter and Shelter-in-place Kits will be explained at the distribution center.

What to do if you are told to Shelter-In-Place.

In the event of a chemical release, you may be asked to shelter in place. Calhoun County has been divided into zones to better coordinate how to take this protective action. Depending upon which zone you are in, taking shelter could mean something different.

Follow the instructions that are given during training at the CSEPP Distribution Center. These will be provided along with your equipment.

Things You Should Know Before Coming To The Center

• You will be required to fill out a medical questionnaire to make sure that there is no reason why you cannot use the protective hood.
• Proof of residency is required. Please bring a photo ID, a bill or another document that verifies your correct street address
• Be prepared to spend approximately one hour getting the equipment and receiving complete training on its use.
• If you are unsure whether or not you live in the IRZ or if you have any questions, please call Calhoun County EMA at 256-435-0540 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for assistance.

Hours and Information

The hours of operation are Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Appointments available for after hours and on Saturdays.
